For those who want to live a deep experience like that of a religious tour, Sicily is the ideal place.

The Sanctuary of Tindari (in the municipality of Patti, in the province of Messina), is located on top of a hill overlooking the sea, place of great fascination destination of many faithful during the year. The Greek archaeological site, to the east, is located on a plain. The sanctuary is surrounded by numerous legends, very much is the cult of the Madonna Bruna, better known as Black Virgin of Tindari, represented by a statue of the Virgin Mary with black skin, while the high altar is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Cathedral of Sant’Agata is the main church of the city of Catania: it was built at the beginning of the Middle Ages, then undergo several interventions over the centuries, so it has various styles, from Norman, Baroque to Neoclassical. It houses numerous statues, such as those of Saint Peter, Saint Paul and Santa Rosalia, but the most important part is certainly the Chapel of Sant’Agata, the patron saint of Catania: it has a richly decorated portal of access, ‘A Cammaredda that preserves the relics of the saint, and finally the Altarpiece, the altar of Saint Agatha.

The Cathedral of Palermo is a Norman monument that can not be missed in any tour: it is dedicated to the Virgin Mary assumed in heaven, while Santa Rosalia (the patron saint of Palermo) is dedicated to the royal-senatoria chapel on the southern side, place where the relics of the saint and the tomb of Frederick II are present. The most devoted to Santa Rosalia can also visit its sanctuary, built in the seventeenth century on Mount Pellegrino: a suggestive church built in the rock. The writer Goethe who visited the place and was fascinated by it, described the Monte Pellegrino as the most beautiful promontory in the world.
